William Soriano of W’s Salon chosen to create looks for Macy’s Passport Fashion Event

Macy’s has selected William Soriano to style the hair fashions for their “Passport” event. Now in its 27th year, this fundraiser has generated over $28 million to support HIV/AIDS charities and research projects.

The event will take place at two venues, Sept. 16 through 17 at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, and Sept. 24 through 25 at the Santa Monica Air Center in Los Angeles. William and his team have been engaged to design 90 subjects, ranging from models, dancers and actors, to aerialists, an opera singer and even the Harajuku girls. Each subject will need several hairstyle changes, which will need to take place in just 5–12 minutes between their jaunts down the runway.

This is one of the largest and longest-running HIV/AIDS fundraisers, and one of the biggest fashion events of the year. An event of this magnitude can’t be taken lightly, and William is already working on the designs — mapping out styles for each model and conceptualizing the plan for execution by the team.

It’s amazing how much goes on behind events like this — the glamour, the high fashion, and maybe the most fun part: the chaos. Tune into our blog for front row seats to the behind-the-scenes action. We’ll post photos and a play-by-play so you’ll be able to get a realistic feel for all the revelry. It’s a fashion celebration — and you’re invited.

Find out more about the event at www.macys.com/passport, or buy tickets for either weekend at www.blueroomevents.com/passport. Join us at the event — we’d love to see you there!
